Senator Dino Melaye who has been on hideout, has said that being wise is different from being afraid. This was in obvious reactions to reports that the lawmaker, whom police has laid a siege on his residence to arrest him, over allegations of attempted murder of a police sergeant.

The police had alleged that Senator Melaye and “his armed thugs” attacked a police personnel Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, who was attached to 37 Mobile Force (PMF) on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State, shooting and injuring him – According to a statement by police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood.

“The Police operatives with a duly obtained Warrant of Arrest deployed to arrest Senator Dino Melaye in his residence in Abuja will not retreat until Senator Dino Melaye surrenders himself for arrest and investigation.”

Policemen had stormed Senator Melaye’s Abuja residence, saying the siege won’t end until the lawmaker  surrenders and he’s arrested and investigated.

However, the lawmaker who has been on hiding since, likened his case to that of prophet Elijah, whom was being  sought to be killed.

Speaking vai Twitter on Tuesday, the Lawmaker said though Elijah was one of the strongest prophets that lived, went to mount Carmel to hide went king Ahab sought to kill him.
